About The T

The T is the transit service for the University of Tennessee at Knoxville; The T is operated by Knoxville Area Transit, the public transit system for the city of Knoxville.

T Services include:

The T: East-West
Operates between ‘The Hill’ (Middle Way Drive and University Center area), Circle Park and the Ag Campus, as well as other points on campus in between the University Center and the Ag Campus.
Regular schedule (Fall and Spring semesters): Weekdays every 5-7 minutes, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and every 10 minutes, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The T: North-South
Operates between Laurel Hall on Highland Avenue in the Ft. Sanders area and Thompson Boling Arena.
Regular schedule (Fall and Spring semesters): Weekdays every 5 minutes, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and every 10 minutes, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The T: Ag Express
A more direct route between the T Transfer Point (close to the University Center) and the Ag Campus. Operates along Neyland Drive instead of going through the heart of campus.
Regular schedule (Fall and Spring semesters): Weekdays every 5 minutes, 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

The T: Late Nite
Serves both the Ft. Sanders area (17th to Highland to 16th and James Agee Street) and the heart of campus (Andy Holt Avenue and Volunteer Blvd.)
Regular schedule (operates only during Fall and Spring semesters): Sunday through Thursday nights, every 10 minutes or less, 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Friday and Saturday nights, every 10 minutes or less, 6 p.m to 3:30 a.m.

The T: Access
This service is for persons unable to use the regular T service due to disabilities. Persons with disabilities may subscribe to use the T: Access service by registering through the UT Office of Disability Services located at 2227 Dunford Hall.
Regular service: Weekdays 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Accessible service continues with the T: Link; no disability services ID is required after 6 p.m.

The T: Link
Intended to transport students traveling alone at night to the T: Late Nite bus or to their destination. Call from any campus Blue Phone or call 974-4080, and a van will  be dispatched. Please note that call volumes can be heavy at times, and wait times may vary. The Link service area include UT’s Main and Ag Campuses, and Ft. Sanders to Grand Avenue, but excludes the Cumberland Avenue Strip.
Regular service: Nightly, 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
